Hi! I’m Hayley - a multidisciplinary designer, illustrator, and coastal local.

My obsession with design started as early as I can remember. After leaving school, my creative journey took me to Germany to gain some international perspective, before I returned home to complete my Bachelor of Design in Christchurch. Since then, I’ve spent years working with creative teams of all shapes and sizes, from small local businesses to multinational companies.

Most recently, I served as the Creative Campaign and Strategy Director for a popular Kiwi haircare brand, giving me a deep and practical understanding of brand design, print, digital, and overall campaign strategy.

In 2021, wanting to feed my hands-on creative side, I launched Drawn Home. Since then, I’ve had the absolute privilege of painting hundreds of custom watercolour home illustrations, creating special, lasting memories for people’s walls.

Fast forward to 2025, and life got a beautiful upgrade! My husband and I welcomed our little girl. We live up here on the gorgeous North Auckland coast with our two big dogs, one of whom is named after an ABBA song (10 points if you can guess which one!).

Now that I'm back from maternity leave, I’ve launched Sørensen Studio to formalise my freelance design work and connect directly with our amazing local community. As we build our life up here on the coast, I’m excited to offer my broad industry experience to local businesses looking for high-level creative support.

Whether you need help with branding, art direction, digital design, or campaign strategy, I will be taking on a select few clients over the coming months.
